What kind of a city goes by such a grammatically incorrect name? Undecided between English and Spanish, the two word name is neither. Old Mission or Misión Vieja? No. This picture was taken by my bro-in-law Gary while window shopping the Shops at Mission Viejo. At least they have their leveling convention right...

Embrace Level 3!

My family's expedition to the Denver Art Museum this afternoon netted me twenty or so compliments on my hat, a cool walk throught a maze of bungee cords and this photo. Sure, a red room full of fanciful foxes fooling around feasts the senses and a tremendously tall totem pole is toutching... nonetheless, seeing this sage advice written on that elevator lobby wall was a welcome sight for these sore eyes. Happy New Year everyone. Embrace it!

Get into the Grove

Last night, past my bedtime (9:00 PM), I received a text message from my brother-in-law Gary. In it was this photo with the caption "Just took this @ the grove in LA". A little research reveals that "for shopping, dining and simply loving life, The Grove is your ultimate entertainment destination". Shopping and dining I get... and I presume the "loving life" part has to do with this picture (after all, Level 3 is practically synonymous with Joie de Vivre). What I don't get is the size of their parking tickets. Assuming the icon of the man carrying his ticket is to-scale, those tickets must be over two feet long! Perhaps watching people carry their enormous parking tickets back to their vehicles is the entertainment.

Denver Museum of Natural History

Whether you want to explore Colorado (where I live) or South America (where I'm from), the Denver Museum of Natural History has it all on Level 3. Quite convenient.

Illegal 3

According to the secret rules of travel (of which I had heretofore been blissfully unaware), your passport is no longer good for travel to Ecuador six months prior to its stated expiration date. My passport expires in November, which added forty minutes of persistent pleading -and much uncertainty as to whether they'd actually let me on the plane- to my check-in. The funny thing is that outside of this Delta airlines agent, no one else I came in touch with (i.e. immigration in both countries) seemed to care. Another secret rule of travel is "thou shalt not take pictures whilst in a federal sorting facility". I learned this rule from a uniformed federal officer in Atlanta international airport who appeared out of nowhere shortly after taking this picture. Who knew? The fact that passport control takes place on Level 3 seemed a fitting closure to a delightful (albeit hectic) trip.

And now I've found the three. Okay, so the photo is not all that level. But take this post and the prior; stitch them together; eliminate the common denominator (i.e. Me) and you've pieced together a Level 3. See? Si!
