Seattle's Best

It was about time the cafeteria carried the right level of coffee!

News Flash

Gary, my brother-in-law was searching for a way to write-protect a USB thumb drive (apparently not an easy task) and happened upon the world’s first FIPS140-2 LEVEL 3 Flash Drive. All I can add is it was about time!

Macy's

Here's another guest submission, this one by Andrea Pierantozzi. It was taken at Macy's in downtown Philly. If you look closely, you can see Andrea's reflection on the sign (I kind of wonder about the guy looking over her shoulder...)

LAX Parking

My brother in law Gary sent me this from the LAX parking lot. Not so sure about the use of "baby blue" or the tagline "stair" -not to mention the garbage can and exit sign... Still, some credit must be given for trying.

BOS Marathon

What a pleasant and fitting surprise. After a 6 AM flight to Dallas yesterday, I spent the day there, only to fly-out to Boston (arriving here at 3 AM and getting-up at 7:15 this morning)... I feel like I've run a marathon. This photo was well worth the 10 minute detour to the BOS parking garage.

Dallas sales office. Second floor. Level 3.

DFW Parking Gets a "C"

I have some time on my hands at DFW, so I decide to go to the parking structure (a sure bet, I think, for a Level 3). Instead of three I see a C (woe is me). I guess we'll have to find a Dallas pic for the collection the hard way.

Coffaux Pas

What's wrong with this picture? Let me tell you what's wrong. This is the Level 3 cafeteria... and the coffee progression is missing the most important level. You've got Hazlenut (which can pass for Level 1) and then Levels 2, 4 and 5. Really?

Phantom Philly Photo

Andrea Pierantozzi, a colleague, sent me this photo with the following caption: "I took this pic last week for you when in a philly parking garage". It makes sense, given the circumstances, that this is where she would park... and I am delighted to add this photo to the collection.

Unexpected Trauma

I was not expecting the call from my wife telling he she'd been in an accident. I was not expecting the mess I saw when I got there and I was certainly not expecting to spend the night at Good Samaritan Hospital keeping her company while under observation. After spending the night on the fourth floor, I certainly was not expecting to run into a Level III. My wife is getting her walking papers in an hour (without any serious injuries) and I have this photo to show for it. I suppose all is well that ends well.

Rochester

I admit this is grasping at straws but, hey, I'm in Rochester, NY so what the hay! Here at the Double Tree there may not be a Level, but there is a three. You play the cards you're dealt.

PHX

Rushed connecting flight. To complicate matters, need to take a shuttle for a different terminal. Not a lot of time. Fortunately, there was time enough for a quick snapshot.

Las Vegas p.2

At the Bellagio. As it should be all prim and proper.

Las Vegas p.1

Caesar's Palace... When in Rome, use roman numerals.

Tamblyn, Townsend, Three...

Driving down from the roof-top parking lot on 650 Townsend, you should have seen Chris Tamblyn's (SFO GM) look of curiosity when I had him stop the car to take my picture. Of course when he saw it, he got it. I think it turned-out pretty good, don't you?

Denver Botanic Gardens

At first blush, it may seem a bit counter-intuitive: Botanic Gardens on Level 3. Then your mind wanders to the floating gardens of Babylon and suddenly plausibility sinks-in. Why not? Why not indeed!

Bones

Spotted by my brother-in-law Gary on a DVR'd episode of Bones. This is as close as I hope to ever get to an FBI building.

Denver City Building

The good: the Denver Mayor's office is on Level 3
The bad: the sign refers to it as the Third Floor
The ugly: I had to peek my head in every court room because the mock trial organizers shuffled the teams around.
